What does your morning look like?


I have been working really hard the past few months to have a positive experience with my morning routines, waking up at 5 am and reading uplifting material (for me it’s moreover a spiritual thing so I read my scriptures) I take some time to meditate, be still and pray, listen and understand what is being said with intent to go out and do something great, then I workout and usually I’m able to even shower and be 100% ready by time the kids are up and we have to be doing all our other daily tasks.

Then there’s seriously sometimes I just want to sleep in.... have you ever felt that? I mean really is it always easy? Not for me, but I do have this mindset now where it’s more purposeful. I have a reason to wake up early and take care of myself and I am continually pushing  myself to do hard things because I am seeing and feeling the benefit of it all. 

I am energized and ready for what the day has in store, I am opening my mind to new ideas, sometimes I mess it all up and just give in to my physical weaknesses of sleep or eating foods that I really don’t want and that don’t benefit my health and not being fully present with my kids, but this whole thing is meant to help me take care of me in the morning before I need to do anything for anyone else so that when I am with them I am fully with them without my selfish thoughts of “I just need some alone time” or “I can’t do this I’m just too tired”. 

I used to have all of those thoughts continually throughout every day before setting my intentions and my schedule just right. What peace I feel when I start the right way in the morning. I have turned my focus from me to life and opportunities, to the needs and desires of my kids and to what is most productive for me to spend my time doing. 

Set your intentions today whatever they may be and get out there and do great things!!!
