Morning routine and motivation

I’ve thought a lot about this, perhaps you too have some insights to share. When you wake up in the morning what drives you to continue through the day and do what needs to be done? Is it your kids Your husband Your job Recognition Anything??? In the past it was the need to take care of my family, kids with school, homework, responsibilities to nurture them and striving to give my all, my hubby and what he needs, the home needing to be taken care of, the need to workout so I could stay thin and fit, maybe get some alone time while in the bathroom for just a moment or two where it’s the only quiet time for studying, thinking, and hopefully squeezing a prayer in there. I only woke up and tried so that I would somehow fulfill my obligations or look like I had it all together when on the inside I was a mess and didn’t take control of my life. My motivation was all outside of me. As I have been working on my self care and prioritizing my life (not always the perfect picture or ideal situation) I have chosen to change a few things. It has been the past 2 years especially I have consistently done a few routine things, first I decided what time my bedtime was and when I wanted to wake up, not always a guarantee with kids, however I still feel I can do something even if it has to be tweaked a little. I found that when I want something bad enough I figure out a way to make it work. I began waking up early while the kids were asleep still so that my time would be productive and uninterrupted. When I need a little extra motivation I have a meditation that gets me pumped for the day. When I start with an open heart and mind and pray I find I’m able to do so much more, since I know there’s not a whole lot I can do by myself and for myself I rely on my higher power for guidance. I have my affirmations that get me in the right mind as well. I have been able to receive even more support from a source higher than me (to me it’s God) through studying his word. Usually I listen while reading along, it opens up parts of my brain that sometimes don’t work so well early in the morning😉 I then work my body out (yes I’m in my third trimester now so it’s a little different than before, I still do it though!) at least 20-30 minutes 4-5 X’s. Week. Then I get to go home and shower and get ready, as much I can. Then I make sure the kids are getting ready for school, that they get a healthy breakfast choice and remember everything 😉 With kids going to different schools and different buses and different times I still want to have ya all together to pray which may be the blessing on food, which gets us prepared for the day by putting on that armor and protects or strengthens us for what lies in store through the day. And that’s just the beginning of my day. It’s been a blessing to be able to be motivated by what is deep within myself and not what is outside of me. If I rely on outside sources to motivate me and get me going I may just get overwhelmed or feel no desire to take on the day. When I wake up and remember my “Why” I am much more productive and motivated and I do things because of a choice I want to make instead of doing things because I should do them which has always led to me doing it out of resentment, never feeling appreciated or like I was good enough. Now if I feel that way I understand it’s my choice and that I can Change my thoughts and create the life I want. What is your “why” for doing anything? #insightsfromemily #innersoullifecoaching lifecoaching #whatsyourwhy #motivation #morningeoutinesandselfcare
